Lago Piccolo di Monticolo
Lake Piccolo di Monticolo is one of the most popular lakes in South Tyrol.
A small natural lake at about 500 m above sea level in the Monticolo forest, with a maximum depth of just under 15 metres.
Surrounded by mixed woodland, it offers a peaceful environment with trails for walks in nature and natural areas where you can observe local flora and fauna.
Lago Grande di Monticolo
Alongside Lago Piccolo, Lago Grande di Monticolo is located in the heart of the protected Monticolo forest, at 492 metres above sea level.
Shallower than its sibling Piccolo, it reaches a maximum depth of about 11 metres.
The shores are mostly wooded. On some sides the terrain is more rocky, while in other areas you can find reed beds or wetter ground near the water.

Lake Caldaro
Lake Caldaro (German: Kalterer See) is the largest natural swimming lake in South Tyrol.
It is located at 216 metres altitude and has a maximum depth of just over 5 metres.
It is one of the warmest lakes in the entire Alpine arc: in summer the water temperature can exceed 28°C, making the lake ideal for swimming and water sports.
Around the lake, natural habitats of interest have developed, with wetland areas hosting aquatic fauna and birdlife, as well as paths accessible on foot or by bicycle.

Lake S. Maria, also known as Lago di Tret (or Felixer Weiher in German), is a small alpine lake situated at 1,604 metres altitude in the Val di Non, in the municipality of Senale-San Felice (BZ), about 40 km from Bolzano.
The name Lago di Tret comes from its proximity to the hamlet of Tret, in the municipality of Fondo (TN), connected to the lake by an easy mountain trail.
The lake is set in a natural environment of alpine meadows and forests, and is considered a protected natural area with generally clean and clear waters.
