In the surroundings of Lana, there are numerous possibilities for exploring nature on foot. You can walk along panoramic routes, climb towards mountain huts and pastures, or venture onto mountain paths.
Among the destinations reachable with short transfers are the Mount San Vigilio area, which offers routes suitable for families and views over the upper valley, and the Ultimo Valley, with its alpine itineraries.
Part of the hiking network is also connected to ski lifts (or uplift facilities) that allow you to save elevation gain and access higher altitudes.

Climbing
In the surroundings of Lana, there are various opportunities for those who wish to go rock climbing or practice sport climbing.
In many locations in South Tyrol, there are “klettergarten” (equipped walls) of different difficulty that cater both to experienced climbers and to those who are beginners, such as the Klettergarten St. Hippolyt in Naraun, the Klettergarten Burgstallknott in Parcines, and the Klettergarten Juval in Naturno.
And if the weather should not be on your side, the indoor proposals include the Kletterhalle Rockarena in Merano and the Kletterhalle Salewa-Cube in Bolzano.
Adventure parks and Trampolines
In the South Tyrol area, you will find several adventure parks, where you can take on suspended courses among the trees featuring walkways and rope bridges of varying difficulty levels.
We recommend the adventure park in Kaltern (Caldaro), the Panorama Hochseilgarten in Scena, and the Hochseilgarten in Schnalstal (Val Senales).

The Vibrant Town of Lana
Lana is located in the idyllic Adige Valley, not far from the city of Merano, and is surrounded by orchards, castles, and an impressive Alpine panorama.
The lively town center offers shops, restaurants, and several points of historical and artistic interest, such as the Parish Church with its famous Gothic altar, the romantic Gaulschlucht (Gaul Canyon), or the Kränzelhof labyrinth garden. All around, you will find lush orchards, cycling paths, and hiking trails.
South Tyrol has never been so close!
From Lana, it is possible to reach many areas and valleys of South Tyrol with short trips.
Merano is only 7 km away, and by railway, you can continue into Val Venosta, which offers mountains over 3,000 m, small villages, paths, and castles.
From Merano, you can also reach Val Passiria, which is also accessible in the saddle of a bike.
Lana is located at the beginning of Val d’Ultimo, one of the most authentic valleys in South Tyrol.
The provincial capital, Bolzano, is reachable in about twenty kilometers: here you can stroll through the picturesque old town, the porticoes, buy delicacies at the fruit market, and visit museums and churches.
Cycling
The area of Lana and South Tyrol offers a network of cycling paths and itineraries for all levels.
The regional train allows the transport of bicycles, which can also be rented via the Bikemobil Card at the various railway stations along the Merano-Malles line. Mountain bikes, city bikes, trekking bikes, and bikes for children are available.
For those who love mountain biking, the hills around Lana, including Mount San Vigilio, offer natural trails with different levels of difficulty.
There are also quieter routes along ancient irrigation channels (rogge) or historic tracks.
Popular among cyclists are the trail leading from Mals (Malles) to Töll (Tel) and the Adige cycle path between Merano and Bolzano.
Horseback Riding
In the area surrounding Camping Arquin, there are several facilities dedicated to horseback riding and trekking, offering services for both enthusiasts and families.
These include stables and equestrian centers where you can join guided tours or take lessons, all with the stunning Alpine landscape as your backdrop.

Fishing
In the surroundings of Lana and across various valleys in South Tyrol, you can enjoy sport fishing in mountain lakes, streams, and rivers immersed in the Alpine landscape. Notable areas include the Ulten Valley (Val d’Ultimo) and the Vigiljoch (Monte San Vigilio) area.
To fish, you must hold a valid license and a daily permit for the specific body of water, which can be purchased at authorized offices or through official channels.

Tandem flight
During the calmest hours of the day, in various valleys of South Tyrol, it is possible to experience a tandem paragliding flight with an experienced pilot.
This type of activity allows you to observe the landscape from above, following thermal currents and scenic routes, with different flight times available (from short flights of 15 minutes up to long flights of 60 minutes).
Christmas Markets
During the Christmas period, traditional markets are held in many locations in South Tyrol, offering local craftsmanship, gastronomic products, and moments of encounter.
Those in Lana, Merano, and Bolzano are easily accessible by train or bus.
Golf
In Lana, just a few minutes’ drive from the campsite, there is a 9-hole golf course nestled among the orchards, offering views over the Adige Valley.
The course is accessible to anyone looking to practice their swing and is located just a short distance from the town.
